Alabama Board of Education primaries: two incumbents return, one new member added
Unofficial results for the Alabama Board of Education Republican primary elections show incumbents Tracie West of District 2 and Wayne Reynolds of District 8 winning. And with no Democratic challengers in the general election, they’ll serve another four-year term.
In District 6, unofficial results show Marie Manning defeated Priscilla Yother in the Republican primary. There are no Democratic challengers in the general election, which means Manning will be seated in January when incumbent Cynthia McCarty’s term ends.
These are unofficial totals posted to the Alabama Secretary of State’s website as of 11 p.m. Tuesday:
District 2
- Alex Balkcum – 20,918
- Tracie West – 42,223
District 6
